about me.
jo hurley DipION, registered nutritional therapy practitioner rCNHC mBANT.
i’m a science-based practitioner who integrates holistic, evidence-informed approaches to restore balance and optimise health, with a particular focus on reproductive and microbiome health.
my work is rooted in understanding and supporting the underlying drivers of health concerns, rather than simply managing symptoms. i take a systems-based approach that considers whole-body health, microbial ecology and function, clinical reasoning, and when and whether different interventions make sense, including when referral elsewhere is the most supportive next step.
i believe in simple, sustainable strategies that fit into real life. my practice combines diet, lifestyle, nutrigenomics (the science of how our genes respond to nutrition and lifestyle), functional lab testing, and supplements where appropriate, always with intention and context.
while i work across a range of health concerns, my passion sits firmly in whole-system reproductive health. i hold an intimate ecology accreditation and am a proud member of the human microbiome guild, continually expanding my clinical understanding of vaginal, uterine, seminal, and urinary microbiomes.
alongside my one-to-one programmes and workplace wellbeing initiatives, i work as a nutrition & education adviser for the femtect ScreenMe, specialising in intimate health microbiome testing. i also lead @feedyourfanny, a non-profit initiative partnering with schools and universities across the uk to educate and empower young women about reproductive health.
my story.
i love food. so it’s no surprise i studied it.
thanks to my incredible health-nut of a mum, i’ve always known the way to go when it comes to eating and living well. while i knew what to eat to feel good (and what sent me spinning the other way), i never really understood the why.
travelling across southeast asia in 2018 reignited my passion, leading to four years of study at the institute for optimum nutrition in london, where i graduated with a distinction in nutritional therapy.
learning about biochemistry (the branch of science that explores the chemical processes within and related to living organisms), and the wonderful cascade of events that are triggered from just a mouthful of the good stuff, is frankly outstanding. even now, the capabilities of the human body still blow my mind daily.
always thinking about food first, i combine this knowledge with my love for good-quality ingredients and simple, unintimidating rituals to deliver a sensible, holistic approach to health. i aim to ignite in you a love affair with nourishing, good food to bring you back to health.
